Lobstermania 2021 at Wanderers Club

Coral Gables Trust Company (CGTC) and Rolls Royce Motor Cars saddled up for a good cause when they sponsored Lobstermania, the lobster feast and member polo extravaganza at the exclusive Wanderers Club, in Wellington, benefitting Give Back for Special Equestrians.

Lobstermania is a time honored tradition at the private members-only Wanderers Club. The event attracted more than 200 guests and was preceded by an exhilarating 4-chukker polo match between team Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and team Give Back for Special Equestrians. After the coin toss, the eight players competed across the 300 by 160-yard grass field (also known as the Club’s driving range) with the aim of driving the ball down the field into the opposing team’s goal posts.

Members and guests enjoyed the time-honored tradition of stomping divots during half time and tailgating from the golf carts on the beautiful spring day. While the Rolls-Royce team took the trophy, all who came out in support of special needs riders were the true winners.

Among the players competing were: Dawn Jones, Tareg Salahi, John Gobin, Santi Loza, Tom Gorman, Aqustin Mauhum, Martine Jaurequi, and Pedro Falabella. Give Back for Special Equestrians’ Young Ambassador Carlotta Goyeneche, an upcoming hunter jumper rider on the Palm Beach circuit and a 17-year-old Junior student at Mast Academy, presented the winning team with their trophies.

“Thanks to the generosity of our corporate sponsor, Coral Gables Trust and support of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Give Back for Special Equestrians was able to provide a check for $7,500 to the HERD Foundation, a Palm Beach stable that provides equine assisted therapy to Palm Beach County veterans.” said Sissy De Maria Koehne, Co-Founder of Give Back for Special Equestrians.
